Residential Counselor Women’s Addiction Recovery Program

 

 

Position Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fulfilling position helping women through their recovery journey. The Part-Time or Relief Residential Counselor is responsible for the supervision of residents and their children, as well as the implementation of the residential program routine and guidelines.


Qualifications

Will only consider candidates in San Francisco Bay Area who meet these requirements:

  • Must be registered or certified in AOD counseling with CAADE or CCAPP.

  • 2-3 years of experience working for a social service or recovery program highly preferred.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain current CPR and First Aid certificates.

  • Valid California Driver’s License and good driving record.

  • Must demonstrate personal qualities of maturity, responsibility, good judgment, appropriate professional boundaries, and understanding of trauma informed care.


Responsibilities

  • Supervises residents and their children and ensures rules are followed on planned house activities.

  • Implements all relevant areas of the client treatment plan as assigned

  • Completes all records and reports as assigned 

  • Oversees and supervises residents in performance of household chores 

  • Monitors the safety of residential clients and children, reporting concerns of child abuse/neglect to the Supervisor and/or Hotline

  • Monitors all resident visitors and completes appropriate documentation 

  • Attend weekly staff meetings and in-service trainings 

  • Drive clients in agency vehicles as needed

  • Communicates effectively with coworkers, clients and personnel associated with outside agencies

  • Maintains client confidentiality and boundaries in all circumstances as required by professional ethics and legal requirements
