A Father’s Letter…
We recently received a special note from Dan, a father whose daughter, Crystal, was placed in our infant residential program in the early 1990’s for the first years of her life. While Dan and Crystal’s mother were not in residence, we supported them both with their reunification with their daughter. Fast forward to 2024, Dan shared this beautiful update on how he and Crystal are both doing today…
Dear Epiphany Center,
My daughter’s first two years of life were at Epiphany Center.
Epiphany taught me parenting, Red Cross, and helped me get my daughter back.
Crystal is an amazing daughter.
She will be 31 come August. She worked for awhile in HR in Downtown SF but gave it up and went back to college to become an EMT. She is working towards becoming a Paramedic.
Crystal is also a good musician and plays numerous instruments. Flute is her major instrument but she also plays saxophone and keyboards. We both play guitar. After I retired, she and I went to Chabot JR College in Hayward together. We both played in the Chabot College Symphonic Band together. She was also in a Jazz band in Union City.
Anyhow…
None of this would have happened without the help and compassion we got from Epiphany Center. One of my favorite memories about my daughter at Epiphany was when one of her caretakers told me she was a climber- she pulled the drawers out of a dresser and climbed to the top!
I try to donate every year. I'm retired so I don't donate a lot but know how much we both appreciate the love and support we were given. Thank You!
