Happy National Philanthropy Day!
November 14, 2014
November 15th is a special day to recognize the great contributions of philanthropy -- and those people active in the philanthropic community -- to the enrichment of our world.
In 1936, Franklin Roosevelt told a national convention that faith, hope, and charity should be the watchwords of American progress. And then he added: “Charity – in the true spirit of that grand old word. For charity literally translated from the original means love, the love that understands, that does not merely share the wealth of the giver, but in true sympathy and wisdom helps (wo)men to help themselves.”
Many many thanks to Epiphany's kind-hearted donors, dedicated volunteers, and selfless Epiphany League members, who, in the spirit of charity, are empowering Epiphany's at-risk women and children to build bright, hopeful futures.
